Snipers Return Top Point Producer from 2014 - 2015

The Dallas Snipers Organization is happy to announce the re-signing of Forward Sasha Yunanov. During the 2014 – 2015 campaign, Sasha lead the team in points with 53 in only 40 games played. This will be his third season with the Snipers this upcoming fall. Yunanov stated “I am very excited to be returning to play in Dallas this upcoming fall. The last two seasons have been extremely fun; I can’t wait for training camp to start in September.” 

Last Season Yunanov took his game to a completely different level. After only scoring 14 points (8 goals, 6 assists) in his rookie season (13/14), this past season he put up 53 points (22 goals, 31 assists). “He had 39 more points than his rookie season, that right there speaks to his dedication to wanting to become a better hockey player. Sasha will be looked to this year for leadership, on and off the ice being a veteran guy. I am excited to have him back again,” said Coach Davis.

Sasha is the 3rd returner behind Sterling Cooper, and Price Dworin. “My first year in the league, I learned a lot about the game and style of junior hockey. I was pretty upset about my numbers my rookie season. I knew I could do much better, so I went into the offseason with that mindset and just worked really hard on everything on and off the ice. Coach Davis does an excellent job of explaining drills, and breaking down the play, I really enjoy playing for Coach Davis. This is a great place to play and the organization is top notch. The coaching staff is great, I love Dallas,” Sasha stated.

Coach Jaskiewicz had this to say about Sasha. “This off-season he’s put on 15 pounds and is now at 200 pounds. After last season that was something that we thought he could improve on; getting bigger, so he could be more physical player. I am very excited to have Sasha back again, he is such a respectful young man who really enjoys the game, he wants to become better each day and we need experienced guys like him. ”
