Tulsa Recap

After a solid opening weekend the Snipers had last weekend off and to start this week Captain Sterling Cooper has rejoined practice and will be making his season debut in Tulsa. The Snipers also re-signed Will Jackson. Jackson started in the NA3HL with the Chicago Bulldogs. After getting out scorn and out shot heavily he decided to return home. The Snipers also added another local defenseman Justin Movalli. He was up at training camp with the Norte Dame Hounds in the SJHL. Movalli was with the team their opening weekend in Vail.

Friday Recap

The Snipers jumped out to a 1-0 lead when Captain Coop feed Yunanov back door. The Snipers would give up 2 goals in the following 7 minutes and Tulsa would take a 2-1 lead into the 1st intermission. The Snipers would tie the game within the first 5 minutes of the second period with a shot by Kutlak. The gave up another goal under 5 minutes left in the period and trailed 3-2 after 2 periods.  Tulsa came out and shut down the snipers in the third period and scored 3 goals in the third to win 6-2. Weiss took his first loss of the season. “Brady made about 4 highlight real saves that should have been a 10-goal game for them. He has stood on his head these first two games,” stated Jaskiewicz

Saturday Recap

Good battle in net lead to a great hockey game. Aleks Ivasenko scored his first goal of the season and rookie Chris Mingus received his first ever Jr. assist. He snapped a shot blocker side and made it a 1-0 lead Dallas. Jiri Trubacik scored a little less than 6 minutes later to end the period with a 1-1 tie. Moustakis and Eisele put on a great perforce in net for their teams. The teams went to OT where the Jr. Oilers forward Conor Dempsey scored on a back-door goal to give Tulsa the 2-1 OT win.

Sunday Recap

The Snipers and Oilers were scoreless after the first period. While Sasha Yunanov and Peter Kutlak both produced 3 points the Snipers would fall again in OT 4-3. Matt Stewart made his first start in a Snipers uniform. He made 41 saves on 45 shots in his debut but took the OT loss. The Snipers only got 2 out of a possible 6 points.
