
Uspenyev nets hat trick, leads Texas to 5-2 win over Dallas Snipers
Anatoly Uspenyev netted a hat trick to lead Texas over Dallas Snipers, 5-2.
Uspenyev got on the scoresheet 2:10 into the first period. He then added goals at 19:20 into the second and at 17:57 into the third.
Texas' penalty kill excelled, as Texas gave up zero goals despite allowing six power plays.
Texas stifled Dallas Snipers' power play, and did not give up a single goal while down a man.
Texas also had goals scored by Landyn Howze and Sebastien Tremblay, who scored one goal each. In addition, Texas received assists from Cody Letsinger, who had two and Keith Bendall, Austin Murray, Miguel Caron, and Collin Young, who contributed one a piece.
Dallas Snipers kept Texas' goalie busy throughout the game, and Oliver Eklund made 40 saves on 42 shots.
Dallas Snipers was helped by Alexander Lehnbom, who racked up one goal and one assist. Lehnbom scored 11:35 into the second period to make the score 3-1 Texas. Emil Melin assisted on the tally. Dallas Snipers also got points from Melin, who also registered one goal and one assist. Other players who recorded assists for Dallas Snipers were Elliott Langford, who had one.
Texas incurred 14 minutes in penalty time with seven minors. Emil Eriksson rejected 21 shots on goal for Dallas Snipers. Dallas Snipers ended with 19 minutes in penalty time with two minors and one major. Dallas Snipers ran into serious disciplinary problems during the contest, and Justin Becton was ejected from the game.
