Williams' hat trick boosts Dallas Snipers over Springfield Express, 8-1

Springfield Express could not stop Dallas Snipers' Trent Williams, who tallied a hat trick in an 8-1 win. 

Williams notched his first tally 6:57 into the second period. He then added goals at 7:02 into the third and at 15:35 into the third. 

Dallas Snipers racked up the penalties in the contest, and ended with six minors and four majors for 32 minutes in penalty time. Dallas Snipers surpassed its season average of 20.0 penalty minutes per game. Dallas Snipers forced Springfield Express' goalies to work between the pipes, racking up 41 shots and forcing 33 saves. Oliver Eklund made 26 stops and Philip Babb made seven. Dallas Snipers surpassed its usual scoring output this season. This season, Dallas Snipers averages 4.1 goals per contest. 

Dallas Snipers also got points from Jean Cobo, who also had one goal and three assists, Alexander Yunanov, who also tallied one goal and three assists, and Carl Sandsten, who also racked up one goal and two assists. Others who scored for Dallas Snipers included Erik Svensson and Peter Kutlak, who scored one goal each. In addition, Dallas Snipers received assists from Pavol Kotzman, who had two and Justin Becton, Gary Burk, and Sterling Cooper, who contributed one each. 

Springfield Express forced its penalty killing units to work especially hard during the game, picking up 10 minors and four majors for 40 minutes in penalty time. The total exceeded the 25.0 minutes per game Springfield Express had been spending in the box. Springfield Express did not reach the goal total it has come to expect this season. Springfield Express averages 4.2 goals per game. 

Springfield Express was led by Linus Dahlberg, who scored the team's only goal. Dahlberg scored on the power play 16:21 into the first period to make the score 1-1. Springfield Express had gained a power play chance when Cobo was whistled for slashing. Diego Bartlett provided the assist. 

Sander Berg made 24 saves for Dallas Snipers on 25 shots. Dallas Snipers registered one goal on eight power play opportunities. Springfield Express registered one goal on four power play opportunities.
